As Innovair continues to scale its offshore robotic inspection services, we are seeking a Lead Offshore Robotic Inspection Engineer to take responsibility for offshore delivery of robotic inspection projects.


Role Overview


The Lead Offshore Robotic Inspection Engineer is responsible for leading the offshore execution of robotic inspection projects across Innovair’s service lines.

You will take ownership of safety, quality, and technical delivery offshore, deploying robotic inspection systems and acting as Innovair’s senior technical representative on site. The role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and client-facing.


Why this role exists


Innovair’s offshore robotic inspection activity is increasing across multiple service lines. This role exists to ensure offshore projects are delivered safely, consistently, and to a high technical standard, while providing clear leadership and accountability offshore.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead offshore delivery of robotic inspection projects across multiple service lines.

  • Take responsibility for safe execution of inspection scopes in offshore environments.

  • Deploy and operate robotic inspection systems including automated NDT scanners, remote inspection systems, ROVs, crawlers, and robotic inspection tools.

  • Act as Innovair’s lead technical representative offshore, interfacing with client, asset/vessel, and site teams.

  • Ensure inspection activities are executed in accordance with approved procedures and method statements.

  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues during offshore execution.

  • Lead and mentor offshore inspection engineers during projects.

  • Ensure high-quality data capture and initial validation offshore prior to onshore data analysis and reporting.

Who this role is for


This role suits an experienced offshore inspection or robotic inspection professional who enjoys leading delivery in challenging environments. You are comfortable taking responsibility offshore and acting as the senior technical interface with clients.


Skills & Experience


Essential


  • Strong background in offshore inspection or robotic inspection delivery.

  • Experience leading offshore inspection activities or project execution.

  • Competence deploying and operating robotic or remote inspection systems.

  • Strong understanding of offshore safety, SIMOPS, and permit-to-work environments.

  • Confident communicator capable of interfacing with clients and offshore teams.


Desirable


  • Experience with automated NDT scanners, robotic inspection tools, ROV operations, crawler systems, or remote inspection technology.

  • Background in offshore wind, oil & gas, or energy infrastructure.

  • Inspection or NDT certification (e.g. UT, EC, TOFD, ACFM or PAUT).

  • Offshore safety certifications (e.g. BOSIET, OGUK Medical, GWO).
