About Innovair
Innovair is a robotics-led inspection company delivering advanced inspection services across offshore wind, energy infrastructure, and industrial assets. We develop and deploy robotic inspection systems that deliver safer access, higher-quality data, and actionable insight, redefining how critical assets are inspected.
As Innovair scales its robotic inspection capability, we are seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer to lead the technical development of our robotic platforms.
Role Overview
The Senior Robotics Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, testing, and evolution of Innovair’s robotic inspection systems.
You will work across the full development lifecycle, from early concepts and prototypes through validation, deployment, and continuous improvement, ensuring systems are reliable, deployable, and suitable for real-world inspection environments.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Why this role exists
Innovair’s robotic systems are moving rapidly from early deployment into repeatable offshore and industrial use. This role exists to ensure those systems are engineered, tested, and evolved to perform reliably in demanding environments, reducing technical risk and supporting scalable inspection delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical development and integration of robotic inspection platforms.
Guide robotic systems through the full development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
Identify technical risks early and resolve them through structured testing, iteration, and operational feedback.
Define system architectures across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
Support offshore and site deployments, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Drive continuous improvement based on operational and client feedback.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
What success looks like in your first 12 months
Robotic platforms are demonstrably more reliable and deployment-ready
Robotic systems consistently ready for mobilisation and offshore deployment
Structured testing, validation, and documentation practices followed
Strong confidence from delivery teams in system performance
Who this role is for
This role suits an engineer who enjoys owning technical outcomes end-to-end, working across design, testing, and deployment. You are comfortable taking responsibility for real-world performance and enjoy seeing systems used in operational environments.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Strong background in robotics, mechatronics, or electromechanical engineering.
Experience taking systems from concept through to real-world deployment.
Ability to identify and mitigate technical risk through structured development.
Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
Desirable
Experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or harsh industrial environments.
Exposure to inspection robotics, ROV systems, or sensor integration.
Familiarity with testing, validation, or reliability engineering practices.
What we offer
Competitive salary dependent on experience
High level of technical ownership and autonomy
Opportunity to work on real-world robotic systems in demanding environments
Fast-growing, engineering-led SME environment
Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.
How to apply
Please submit your CV to careers@innovair.co.uk
A short covering note outlining your interest is welcome but not essential. All applications will be reviewed directly by Innovair’s leadership team.
