INTERNAL BLADE INSPECTION

Innovair delivers a complete internal blade inspection solution using specialist robotic technology to provide safe, detailed and repeatable structural assessment.

Our inspection engineers deploy Innovair’s BladeRunner™ robotic crawler to traverse internal blade structures with stability and control. This enables close visual inspection of shear webs, bond lines, root sections and other critical structural interfaces.

All inspection data is uploaded to DiscovAIr™, Innovair’s secure digital reporting platform, where internal and external findings can be reviewed together to support accurate defect classification and maintenance planning.

INSPECTION WORKFLOW

How do we complete internal blade inspections using remote inspection technology?

 

Innovair deploys BladeRunner™ as our primary internal blade inspection system, providing controlled and stable access within blade structures. BladeRunner™ is engineered to traverse internal sections with precision, enabling detailed visual assessment of shear webs, bond lines, root areas and critical structural interfaces.

Where inspection scope or geometry requires alternative access, caged drone systems can be deployed to support confined internal surveys. System selection is determined during technical review to ensure the safest and most effective methodology for each turbine type.

Our inspection engineers plan and document each operation in advance of mobilisation, completing all required RAMS and site documentation to ensure safe and efficient delivery on both onshore and offshore assets.

 

Inspection data is uploaded to DiscovAIr™, Innovair’s secure digital reporting platform, allowing internal and external blade findings to be reviewed in a single environment. Structured reporting supports accurate defect categorisation, prioritised maintenance planning and informed asset management decisions.

 

All works are delivered with a focus on safety, data integrity and minimal operational disruption.
